Clinivid allows clinicians to securely message and transfer files between each other, dramatically changing how information is shared across the health sector. Clinivid is a rapidly growing technology and before Head of Business Development, Monica Cheng joins the Health Horizon Innovation Alley at the World Hospital Congress in October, we had a chat with her about Clinivid’s next steps.
What is your health innovation? What does it aim to do?
Clinivid is new generation secure messaging enabling mobile secure information sharing across the whole health care sector.
Combining secure image, video, and file transfer with personal and group secure chat, Clinivid merges provides one easy-to -use and safe alternative for all types of clinical exchanges.
Better clinical communication increases quality and efficiency in care and can prevent medical incidents.
Clinivid is highly interoperable and integrates with most clinician systems via HL7 or API based.
How is your innovation relevant to hospitals?
With Clinivid hospitals can provide clinicians a safe alternative to texting, email or WhatsApp. By linking it with existing systems, including Patient Management and Electronic Medical Record Systems, Clinivid becomes an easy-to-use, versatile extension to existing workflows, both within hospitals, as well as between primary and hospital sectors. All conversations can link to the patient records improving record-keeping and ensuring higher levels of compliance. Lower medico-legal risks, improve care efficiency and achieve better patient outcomes through instant care coordination.
What challenges have you come up against in developing your health innovation? What motivated you to keep going?
Clinivid is built for the whole health sector. We have had a very positive reception from clinicians and in the private sector. We understand the need for new generation secure messaging in the public sector. Finding the right stakeholders in the multi-layered public system with a lack of visibility of project focus, budget, etc has been a challenge.
What is one thing the public could do to help your innovation to succeed?
Many smaller hospitals look for guidance from lead agencies. Having the ability to set up small sandbox projects with minimal formality to show the practical value to clinicians and decision-makers in the public sector would be beneficial.
What is the next step for your innovation?
We are adding specialised, optional modules to the platform, releasing an end-to-end Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting Module shortly.
What are the benefits of developing your innovation in Australia?
We have a team of industry experts who know clinical workflows and challenges in depth. Government support both on the Federal and State Level has been outstanding.
